Physiotherapy is typically divided into three stages: pain relief, strengthening, and functional integration. Some people are afraid of physiotherapy because they believe it will harm them; however, this is not the case. Physiotherapy is not intended to cause pain, but rather to eliminate it once and for all.
Physiotherapy is intended to relieve pain and strengthen muscles, Our Camrose Physiotherapist at Central Physiotherapy & Massage will ensure that your treatment plan does not cause you any pain or discomfort. You can be confident that you’re in good hands here!
Our physiotherapist will customize your treatment plan to include movements that will improve your strength, flexibility, balance, and overall mobility. He or she will help you with many of these exercises, but he or she will also provide some simple ones that you can do at home.
The result of physiotherapy is that you can live the active life you want, free of painful limitations. That can only happen if you apply what you’ve learned in your treatments to the real world.
Our physiotherapist is as dedicated as you are and will encourage you to achieve all the goals you outlined during your initial visit!
You may be required to perform simple movements such as sitting, standing, walking, lifting, stretching, or other motions during your initial evaluation.
Once our physiotherapist understands your needs, they will begin developing a personalized treatment plan to help relieve your pain and achieve your goals.
Everyone has various needs depending on the state of their bodies and the amount of pain they are in. There is no such thing as a cookie-cutter approach to health since one treatment plan can not work the same way for one person as it does for another.
Our physiotherapist will work with you closely to assess your mobility, balance, range of motion, and pain intensity. Your physical objectives, as well as any health risks that might be holding you back, will be considered when developing your treatment plan.
The purpose of physiotherapy remains the same, no matter what you are seeking its services for to help you feel BETTER from whatever kind of pain or discomfort you’re experiencing.
Perhaps you are still living with the lingering pain of an injury. Perhaps you are recovering from surgery and trying to get your range of motion back. Perhaps your joints simply aren’t what they used to be, and you are looking for relief.
Whatever the case may be, our physiotherapists are dedicated to relieving your pain and getting you back to your peak level of physical health.
Our physiotherapists are movement specialist and educated in analyzing mobility issues with walking, running, jumping, bending, stretching, and almost every other form of physical activity.
Through in-clinic sessions and at-home exercises, patients strengthen their muscles and joints, improve their balance, build endurance, and experience pain relief, all without the unwanted harmful risks of drugs or surgery.
Dry needling is a safe and effective method of treatment performed by a Licensed Physiotherapist that works to reduce pain and muscle tension, while simultaneously improving mobility.
It has been proven to treat numerous musculoskeletal issues, including acute and chronic injuries, overuse injuries, neck pain, headaches, back pain, sciatica, muscle spasms, muscle strains, tendinitis, knee pain, hip pain, fibromyalgia, tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow, and more.
If you are experiencing one of these conditions and you’re looking for relief, or if you’d like to gain more information on how dry needling could benefit you, contact Central Physiotherapy Today!
There are a large variety of musculoskeletal issues that can be treated with dry needling. When paired with our traditional exercise-based physiotherapy treatments and advanced manual therapy techniques, we have found that the vast majority of our patients achieved the pain-free goals they were aiming towards.
After conducting a comprehensive evaluation to assess the nature of your condition, our physiotherapists will let you know if dry needling is the best course of treatment for you.
We have used dry needling to treat several diverse conditions, from chronic pain sufferers to athletes experiencing delayed onset of muscle soreness.
Most of our patients report feeling little to no discomfort when undergoing dry needling treatments. Our highly-trained physiotherapists know how to make the process as painless as possible; however, some patients may still experience a “twitch response” with the insertion of the needle.
This is comparable to a quick muscle cramp or ache. The 24-48 hours following a dry needling treatment may also result in muscle soreness, which should go away on its own. Sore muscles can be treated at home by applying ice and/or heat packs and drinking plenty of fluids.
This treatment method is used by our licensed physiotherapists as a way to relieve pain. When performing dry needling, our physiotherapists will insert a sterile needle through the skin, into the underlying tendons, ligaments, or muscles that have been affected, in order to relieve pain, decrease muscle tension, and improve mobility.
While it is a common misconception, dry needling is not acupuncture. It is based on a modern scientific study of musculoskeletal and neuromuscular systems. While there are some similarities, dry needling is strictly based on Western Medicine Principles and research. It provides an environment that enhances the body’s ability to heal, ultimately reducing pain in the process.
Tons of musculoskeletal conditions can be treated with dry needling, and just as many health benefits to choosing this kind of treatment method.
At Central Physiotherapy & Massage, we have also found that the vast majority of our patients achieved the pain-free outcomes they were looking for when our conventional exercise-based therapies were combined with it.
Our physiotherapist in Camrose will let you know if it is the right course of treatment for you, but only after a thorough assessment to determine the severity of your condition!
